What you need?
ENET to OBD2 Cable ($20)
Windows Laptop (Laptop must have ENET Port or will need USB to ENET adapter)
REMARK:
If CARPLAY is successfully enabled but are unable to connect, you need to install an WIFI antenna ($10-$15) for a good connection. Cars without wireless charger option usually don’t have WiFi antenna installed. (Most common on 2, 3, 4, X3, X4 BMW Series)
How do you know if your car can be APPLE CARPLAY Activation or not?
1. Your car must be iDrive5 and iDrive6
2. Your car must have an EVO map and have NBTevo_H or higher.
How to check the software version?
Go to „Navigation” ->
Choose „Map” ->
Press Options button ->
Select „Navigation settings” ->
Scroll down to „Position and version” ->
Select „Version information”
How do you know whether your car supports APPLE CARPLAY Split screen or Full screen?
- Versions H, I, J, K, L and M Support APPLE CARPLAY Split Screen only (If you want Carplay full screen You will need to update the firmware of the car at the dealer.)
- Versions N, O P, Q, R, S, … and so on Support APPLE CARPLAY Full Screen
